I have lifted my hand to the LORD

Gen 14:21-23 And the king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give me the persons, but take the goods for yourself.” But Abram said to the king of Sodom, “I have lifted my hand to the LORD, God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth, that I would not take a thread or a sandal strap or anything that is yours, lest you should say, ‘I have made Abram rich.’ I will take nothing but what the young men have eaten, and the share of the men who went with me. Let Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre take their share.”
One soldier of AOJ called me and told me that the Lord gave her the above message.
The Lord revealed the same message to me a few times earlier through similar verses. This was a confirmation for me to share it with the soldiers of AOJ.
Abraham won a great victory in the war which he fought in order to deliver Lot and the people with him who were taken as captives.
Gen 14:16 Then he brought back all the possessions, and also brought back his kinsman Lot with his possessions, and the women and the people.
After that the King of Sodom wanted to share the plunder. But Abraham refused and lifted his hands to the Lord Most High, Possessor of Heaven and earth.
What does it mean?
Abraham did not want anything either people or goods, from anybody except given by the Lord Almighty.
So he lifted his hands towards heaven, the possessor of Heaven and Earth.
When we are in the ministry of the Lord, the Lord will give you two things.
- Human souls.
- Goods. ( privileges, recognition, name etc.)
Sometimes, this become the greatest trap for them The fleshly mind (Untransformed mind) make them believe that both the souls and the goods belong to them. They change it as their possession and claim ownership on them. They belong to God the Possessor of Heaven and earth. We should not touch them.
Institutional Churches were deceived and went astray in this. Each put a circle of “their souls and properties” refusing to release them for evangelization wherever needed. They show even many quotations from Bible for this.
Est 2:8 So when the king’s order and his edict were proclaimed, and when many young women were gathered in Susa the citadel in custody of Hegai, Esther also was taken into the king’s palace and put in custody of Hegai, who had charge of the women.
Hegai was given charge of the women. All the women who were brought to the palace were in the custody of Hegai. How faithful he would have been in dealing with these women who were meant for the king!
When the Lord gives us new souls through Troop Churches or Gift Schools, let us never be polluted with such thoughts,
“Let me keep them for myself, my Gift School, my Zone, my Region. If I leave them, I may not get new ones”
Each soul belong to God, the Lord of hosts! They should be taken to the proper place and posted in the proper position. Everywhere the Lord’s Kingdom should grow. Even over the souls we would have gained, let’s never claim ownership! Let’s keep our hands free!.
The souls whom we win, should not develop any sentimental attachment towards you. You should be like Hegai the eunuch. Hegai was a “made eunuch”.
We are not eunuchs! We will have our own sentiments, affections, attachments, need of money, emotional hunger for recognition, etc.etc.
But the training the Lords gives you every day, to your fingers and hands, should make you “Spiritual eunuchs” so that we will never try to steal what belongs to the King of kings and the Lord of lords.
Here are a few checks to know your position.
- Are we ready to release the soldiers whom I have trained or moulded in my Troop or Gift School or Morning Worship etc?
- Do you have the confidence of going to any area, any Constituency in the name of Jesus Christ, where no work of AOJ has started?
- Am I willing to give up or hand over all the plunder, (human souls and goods) which I have acquired and willing to go to unexplored areas in search of new souls?
Dear soldiers,
Deu 33:25 Your bars shall be iron and bronze, and as your days, so shall your strength be.
As you become more skilled and trained at the feet of the Lord everyday, you will learn to lift your hands towards heaven, give up everything to others and depend more and more on the Possessor of Heaven and Earth.
Let us be ready to go anywhere we are sent without any reservation.
Take up any responsibility trusting upon the Lord.
Go for greater plunder of souls, with a willing heart to share everything with others!
Otherwise we will be trapped! We will be limiting God in our small circle!
May God increase your territories! Make you spread abroad to the right and to the left! May your offspring possess the nations and fill up the desolate cities.
