What’s Christmas for us.

What’s the meaning of this Word?
It’s Christ mass, a sacrament observed for communion with Christ. The date of Christ Jesus’ birthday is not given in the Bible. There’s nothing Biblical about the particular day of celebration of Christmas. Anyway let us take this as an opportunity to talk about Jesus’ redemptive plan for mankind. The heavenly Father sent His only begotten son to the earth, that any one who believes in Him will have everlasting life. He came to save us from our sins. Jesus Himself said
“the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
Matthew 20:28
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 1:18
When Joseph heard about this he wanted to leave her secretly. An angel appeared in his dream and told him “And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”
Matthew 1:21
Therefore Prophet Isaiah said “the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.
Isaiah 7:14
Immanuel means God with us.
Man fell into sin and God’s presence cannot rest with man as He is holy and so He planned to redeem man from his sin after paying the price of man through His own sacrifice at Calvary.
As the children have flesh and blood, He too shared in their humanity so that by His death He might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil— and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.
Hebrews 2:14-15
This is the message of Christmas, the message of the cross.
As apostle Paul says “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 1:18
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile
Romans 1:16
About Jesus, Isaiah has prophesied :-
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.
I Timothy 3:16
He is Christ Jesus who redeemed us from the slavery of sin.
It is this news we have to celebrate and let us rejoice that He was born in Bethlehem.
Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
Luke 2:10-11
“Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”
Luke 2:14
Let us praise Him and worship Him as He came to earth as a man and redeemed us, giving us life in abundance. It’s a miracle that Jesus, the darling of heaven left His equality with the Father to become a man. The meaning of Christmas is that God is with us and the message of Christmas is that God is at the throne of grace that we can run to Him for His support and succour anytime we need Him. Praise Jesus!
Prayer:
Thank you Heavenly Father for loving us so much that you gave Your Son to redeem us from the enemy. We praise and worship you Jesus for Your precious blood You shed to pay the price to redeem us. We believe and trust you and wait for the rapture. Keep us holy, away from sin O Lord..
Amen.
