*The Battle In Our Mind*
*2 Corinthians 10:4-5* -> _For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God *for pulling down strongholds* … and we take *captive every thought* to make it obedient to Christ_.

*TRUE FREEDOM IN Christ* will come only when we learn how to win the *battle in our mind*.To have control over our minds, Satan sets up *strongholds* in our *thought life*.
It’s the same strategy he used on *Eve* in the garden. *He didn’t have the power to take her captive forcefully*. He had to convince her to *willingly* surrender herself to his control and influence. We do not know *how long* Adam and Eve were in the garden before her temptation took place. But it is possible that this was a *progressive temptation* and Satan *waited* patiently *day-after-day* for the *stronghold* of *desire-to-eat* of the forbidden fruit took hold of Eve, before he approached her.
But, a Christian is not helpless against the schemes of Satan because he has received the *Holy Spirit*:_*At one time* we too were *foolish*, disobedient, deceived and *enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures* … But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared …
He saved us through the washing of rebirth and *renewal by the Holy Spirit*, whom He *poured out on us* generously *through Jesus Christ* our Savior_ [Titus 3:3-6]. Because of the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit, we are able to function in a new way of life. It means our past is erased, our mind is renewed and our nature is transformed.
When temptation pulls on the desires of your mind and flesh, *call upon the Holy Spirit*. Stop what you’re doing, and say, _*Help me, Holy Spirit*. *I’m in trouble*. *Give me the power to resist this*_. And don’t stop calling upon the Holy Spirit until the ungodly desire wanes.–
