The Parables Of Jesus -The Wedding Feast (Math 22:1-14)

WEDDING GARMENT (Matthew 22: 11-14)

  1. GARMENT OF SALVATION

I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God, for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.” (Isaiah 61.10)

Are you wearing your dressing garment? Everyone who entered the hall was given a garment. That was a special and expensive gift from the king. When the guests accepted that garment, they showed they respected the host. That special wedding garment is salvation and the character that comes with it, which God offers for nothing. All those who accept the garments offered by God will obtain garments of Salvation and will become the Bride of Jesus Christ. The provision made is complete, and the eternal righteousness of Christ is placed to the account of every believing soul. The costly, spotless robe, woven in the loom of heaven, has been provided for the repenting, believing sinner, and he may say, “I will greatly rejoice in The Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels” (Isalah, 61:10)

As written in Isaiah 51, Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall was old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished. (Isaiah 51.6) and in verse 8 “For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool, but my righteousness shall be forever, and my salvation from generation to generation” (Isaiah 51.8)

The days of our probation are fast closing. The end is near. To us the warning is given, “Take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares”. Luke 21:34.
