INHERITANCE
Psalm 61:5
You have given me the inheritance of those who fear Your name.
Yes dear God’s holy people, as you are filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding ,walking worthy of the Lord, being fruitful in every good work, enduring everything with patience joyfully, give thanks to God the Father ,who has enabled us to be partakers in the inheritance of the holy people in light ( Colos 1:9-12).
So , do everything you do heartily for the Lord and not for men, since it is from the Lord that you will receive the reward of inheritance, for we serve the Lord Jesus Christ! ( Colos 1:23,24).
How do we get this inheritance?
If the inheritance comes from the law, it no longer comes from the promise. But God gave it to Abraham through a promise! ( Gal 3:18).
Can we receive it too? The blessing of Abraham comes on Gentiles through Jesus Christ, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith (vs 14). If you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise (Vs29)!
Therefore, you are no longer a servant , but a son, and if a son, then a heir of God through Christ! Yes beloved in Christ, in Him we HAVE already received an inheritance ( Eph 1:11) and Holy Spirit God is the guarantee of our inheritance (vs14)! Has not God chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He has promised to those who love Him( James 2:5)?
There are privileges of being a heir.
Blessed are the poor in spirit , for theirs is the kingdom of heaven! Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth! ( Matthew 5:3,5)
Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to minister to those who will inherit salvation? ( Heb 1:14,)
Amen!
So, let us show diligence for the full assurance of hope to the end, holding the beginning of our confidence firmly to the end,not being lazy, but like Abraham, through active faith and patience inherit the promises ( Heb 3:14; 6:11-20)!
